This tabletop was a prototype to handle larger tabletops and solid wood tabletops. The tabletop is handmade from a fallen Pennsylvania oak tree that dried out naturally over the last 10 years. This tabletop has not been kiln or vacuumed dried, it has dried naturally over the years and its moisture content is almost none existent which means no warping or bending. The tabletop top has also been book matched as you can see in the photos. The edge of the table is also crafted to Florence Knoll’s exact specified design angle. It’s stained a darker medium brown and been sealed with danish oil. This tabletop and base will last many lifetimes- it’s extremely heavy and can take a beating as it will always be able to be sanded and dents steamed out. This dining table features a pedestal base, making it a versatile piece that can be used in both the home office/study and dining room.
